TALK... TO BE ABLE TO PROVIDE THE BEST POSSIBLE SERVICES, YOU MUST CAREFULLY
READ AND ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF AND AGREEMENT TO THE FOLLOWING
POLICIES PRIOR TO SERVICES BEING RENDERED (for your protection and benefit):
1.) This is not "traditional therapy" in that you will not visit with a therapist
face to face. This is a service for personal, online guidance, consultation
and support. You, the consumer, are paying for professional feedback which
is based on the therapist's extensive schooling, experience and ongoing training.
2.) While we use the latest in Internet security technology, A Place To Talk...
cannot be held liable for breaches of confidentiality caused by the consumer
of this service or by unknown parties (e.g. "hackers), or for computer-related
technical difficulties, such as "crashes" or server errors.
3.) No information you provide to A Place To Talk... may be disclosed to any
party by A Place To Talk... except in the following circumstances:
-- By your written consent
-- By your indication that you intend to harm yourself or someone else, or
that child abuse or neglect has occurred or is occurring -- in these instances,
by law, the relevant authorities must be informed by A Place To Talk...
-- If information is subpoenaed by a court of law
-- To assist relevant personnel in the event of a medical emergency.
4.) A Place To Talk... guarantees that your services will be provided by a
masters-level therapist, that services will be conducted in a professional
manner, that you will be treated with respect and without discrimination,
and that A Place To Talk... subscribes to and follows the code of ethics as
outlined in the Pennsylvania statues which govern Professional Counselors
and Therapists. You must understand and agree that A Place To Talk... can
only be held liable under the laws governing the professional therapists in
the State of Pennsylvania.
